wife has brain tumour need help with shunt

just had VP shunt reprogrammed- she has lost mobile functions- does anyone know how long it takes once the shunt is reprogrammed before it starts working and noticing a difference?

Dexamethasone- long time on drug

my partner has been on this drug for over a year now- is this something she might have to take for life?

Neurofibromatosis

have a brain tumor as well as neurofibromatosis and just wondered if anyone else has the same and how it has affected them. The tumor thanks to the Temodal drug is getting smaller but we are worried about the other disease growing more tumors after treatment

Hi and welcome
I have merged your threads as it really is much easier to have all the info in one thread here on the New Member Intro forum

Thanks for your help but this does not seem like much of a support group since not one reply yet- I will keep waiting- thanks

Hi again...
it really depends on the condition.
We have very active forums and some are quieter.

Usually when there are no replies it means that members may not have knowledge of the situation being asked about...
Hopefully someone who does have info will see your thread and respond.
It is not an area I know anything about so can't comment...sorry:o

You can try a forum search for shunt information, search link in my siggy.

Our Arnold Chiari Malformation & Syringomyelia forum has shunt info mentioned the most I believe ..

Hello mapleleafs. I'm sorry that your wife is going through all this right now and I'm sorry that it's taking a while to get the answers that you seek.

Perhaps you could try our Hydrocephalus forum? I understand your wife's problems may differ from those of our members there, but they may at least provide guidance in the basics, or suggest other resources for you to try.

Although sometimes quiet, the Hydrocephalus Forum does receive more traffic than this one so I am hopeful that you will get a reply quite soon. Here's the link : http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum14.html
