A little hope

After my last flare in October 2012 I did not remit or show any improvement. Since then I have often had new symptoms like burning feet, etc. but none of them, old or new, improved. Then the day before yesterday I felt better when I was going for coffee in the AM. I came home and tried the neuro tests my Dr. does in the office and I could actually do the heel to toe and I have NEVER been able to do that for over 2 years!

I feel like my balance is much better and for the first time in years I feel hopeful! I was told by my Dr. that I would probably not have improvement after so long but I DO!!!

Hi, wildgoose--I like your user name, except now I have that song running around and around in my brain, "Cry of the Wild Goose"!

I'm happy to hear that you're seeing some improvement/remission! The key is that doctors have to say we "probably" won't see improvement after a length of time. Nothing is for sure. That's the one thing that's consistent about MS: its inconsistency.

I've had a couple of new symptoms that remained the same for so long that I had accepted that "this is my life now, get used to it". Then they improved. Isn't it nice to have some pleasant surprises once in a while?

That's great!

All too often doctors' & peoples' opinions are taken as fact, only to have those opinions proven to be unfounded when exceptions come along.

Welcome to the community of exceptional individuals :).

With love, Erika
