Animation from the World Health Organization: The black dog of depression

This is a cute video:
What Is Depression? Let This Animation With A Dog Shed Light On It.

( . . "When the rest of the world seemed to be enjoying life, I could only see it through the black dog."
. . . I worried that people would judge me. Because of the shame and stigma, I was constantly worried about being found out, so I invested vast amounts of energy into covering up . . .)

Then the narrator talks about quieting the mind, exercising like going for a walk or a run, and keeping a mood journal as well as a gratitude journal.

======
Here is a book that goes with the video. I might send it to my sister because she has two big beautiful dogs.

Do you know that Abraham Lincoln also suffered with depression? I can't imagine having that kind of pressure on me. There wasn't any medication for Lincoln in the 1800's. I wonder what they did in those days to deal with it. I wonder what they called it,or if they even acknowledged it.

I've heard of Winston Churchill's deep depression. It must have been agony to have it,and have so much pressure on him. I didn't read the book,but I saw something somewhere that he used it to win the war. ??? BF:hug::hug::hug:

Hi, Steve,

Right. That is what this page from NAMI says:

Churchill’s depressive realism helped change the course of world history. He not only refused to submit to his black dog, he was able to use it to his advantage.
