Chronic neck pain

Hello there. I have been diagnosed with antiphosphlipid, raynauds and Sjogrens for the past 15 years had cva in 2001 and many smaller events in between.overall, I'm doing well but
I wondered if anybody else has chronic neck pain? It is muscular, I think but my neck now cracks and pops much more than before. I've had this since October.
It absolutely kills me. A neck rub helps it temporarily but it comes roaring back. Hard to think and work with it.
When I first had big problems with the autoimmune stuff, I had a stiff neck constantly. But it's been better but. Ow back with a vengeance. Anybody else deal with this? Thank you!

Have you ever had whiplash or do a lot of desk work?
Has your c spine been xrayed/imaged , to rule in or out as possible cause?
Another option is a comprehensive evaluation by a good PT.
Maybe some session of PT, or chiropractic, will fix it up or help..

Similar situation

In fact, I just posted about it. My neck has been screaming the last few months espescially in the trap area. I also have antiphos and Raynauds. I have an ANA but have never had a formal diagnosis. I also have Lymes. I am undergoing an MRI tomorrow for it. I cant even lay down at night it burns me so much and when I press on the fascia its all swollen and tender..

Yes! I have horrible pain! If I am not consciously relaxing those muscles, they are tightening up. I feel that if I move too quickly, something will break. Nothing wrong they can find in the spine or shoulders. I had it equally on both sides and was getting cortisone shots regularly. Even walking behind me, people would remark about one shoulder being higher than the other at times.

I went gluten free on a hunch, and the pain on the left side is GONE! Now thinking the pain on the right must be a similar autoimmune thing - probably my thyroid, as my T3 and T4 numbers are in the basement or lower. Guess I will find out soon, as testing the thyroid, antibodies, etc. is going to be done soon.

I do hope you find something that helps....

Thank you all for your replies. I hae not had an MRI...I will call my rheumatologist this week to see what it can be.
I had a flu-like thing in October and neck pin was horrible wit it. It just never seemed to leave. The weight of my own head is too much. So weird!
Thanks to all!:grouphug:

I have Sjogrens Syndrome and other health concerns. Not too long ago, I had a similar problem. I think I took an xray....some minor concerns were found, but really more along the lines of normal aging.

I ended up taking Soma and going to Physical Therapy for at least two months. I gradually lowered the Soma and knock on wood, the pain stopped.

I also occasionally got a LIGHT massage.

In two months, it was gone .

Wishing you well.
