Epsom Salt lotion

Just wondering what the recommendation is for use how often and where besides the feet can/should use? Thanks

I apply mine on the inner arms and wrists....for systemic absorption.

But you can pick a target that bothers you... like charleyhorse type cramps and apply there daily to see if this lotion prevents further. I find that one application lasts days this way, then wears off, then you return and do it again.

I don't think applying large amounts is wise...so small areas once every few days and rotating to a new area each day...is best. I am finding this magnesium lotion lowers my high blood pressure. So you don't want those side effects or too much daily. Apply at night and you might feel better and sleep better.

You know, I don't feel or notice any difference with the epsom lotion but I use it faithfully since so many here love it.

When I first started using it I thought I loved it and could tell a difference, but at with many things, many its mental, because it always seems like those positive "feels" wear off or go away or maybe it was all in my head to begin with.

I put the lotion on my wrists and arms too, and I am sure it helps. The epsom baths ALWAYS worked and I loved them, too bad my feet hate hot water now. :(

I apply the Epsom Lotion generously in both my inner arms and legs starting from the insteps sliding to the ankles and up to the legs and thighs. You mentioned about side effects, what possible side effects can i have by applying generously every night?

Thanks.

Mary

Stacy,

Did you ever try soaking in warm water with combination of epsom salt and baking soda (that is when you can still tolerate warm water)? I read it is a good detox. i want to try it but am asking around first how it works....

The most obvious effect is feeling too relaxed....tired and fatigued.

If your kidneys are working normally, then the extra magnesium will be eliminated easily.

If you are taking hypertension medication, it may become too strong a dose, and may need adjustment with magnesium lotion applied too liberally. So patients with hypertension should take their blood pressures at home daily to see if this is happening.

No I never added baking soda, though I have heard about it.

I always LOVE how I feel after an epsom bath soak. Once in awhile I still take one, I just put my feet on edge of tub with a little battery fan on them while I enjoy the hot tub but not often anymore. I use to take one every single night in the winter when I was cold. It helped bring my blood pressure down when it was high and it always makes me sleep better.

I am not taking medications for hypertension. My BP is on the low side. When i feel dizzy - not the usual vertigo type, just feeling off - my BP is low. Last night, my BP was 92/59 with 82 pulse. Nothing triggers it, it just happens.
