My Neurologist said today that the only reasonable next course of treatment would be to admit me to the hospital for 3 to 7 days and feed me some combination of drugs such as the above, and that would give me an average result of 50% improvement in condition, but would not relieve me from taking all the meds I'm on now.

Has anybody had this procedure, and has it helped? What scares me is he doesn't even know what the drugs actually do, he just knows the results tend to be really good, and that continuing to try prescription med after prescription med is not likely to help.

He also has decided my issue is a chronic migraine issue triggered by the concussion, not a concussion issue or any other PCS type of thing.

Is this course of meds just for migraines ?

Has Botox been tried or the surgery that was discussed last year ?

How about high doses of Omega 3 fish oil ? Did you see the CNN article posted a few weeks ago ?

Scott, I haven't heard of this, so I can't help. However, I was wondering: Do you live in Missouri? That's where I'm from, and I saw the Fenton part of your screen name.

@ Mark-yes, as I understand it, these are treatments for migraines that wont go away any other way. We have not tried botox, and the only surgery I can think of is a nerve thing, and the extent of neuralgic testing was one round of injections that failed, and the whole enchilada was dropped. By WC hired hands.

I have not tried the fish oil yet, but I do have a print out of your vitamin regimen that I will try when we get a little more money in the bank (no income right now). I have not seen the article as I was not checking in as frequently lately. I had some trouble with depression, and just didn't want to look at this kind of post for a while. They are giving me another med for that, yay....

@Mom-yes, lived in MO all my life, lucky me. That's why WC is able to get away with murder, and Medicaid can refuse me as a patient even though I have no job or savings.

I'm going through the same battle with Medicaid right now. I actually read somewhere that our state is one of the worst ones for single parents or people who need health insurance. It's ridiculous.

Yeah pretty much. Neither of us have a job yet I can't get medicaid b/c I took my pension out of my job to live on.
