Pain pump complications

Sorry I haven't been on here lately, I've been dealing with the worst headache I've ever had. It started 10 days after the pain pump was put in. They gave me a migraine med, it didn't help, told me to try percocet, that didn't help, I tried every migraine therapy I could, nothing helped except MMJ. It felt like I had an axe in my head and was sobbing.

Got a blood patch two days ago. Got dizzier, but the axe went away. Saw the doc yesterday and she said it'll probably take a while to get better, just rest and more rest.

I was bothered by the fact that she said they normally wait 12 whopping weeks to do the blood patch. I just whined enough to get it done earlier, plus I know my body and knew it wasn't a normal migraine. I told them I'd go to the ER if they didn't fix me, and they said they didn't trust the docs at the hospital.

I'm still dizzy, in theory because my pressure was off for long enough. Never found an actual leak, but the doc said something about meningeal irritation. I honestly think it happened because we had sex and something must have moved.

So I'm still dizzy, but finally back at work today. Hopefully over the next few days I'll be much better.

Chaos, I'm sorry you've had such terrible head pains after your SCS...sounds horrendous you poor thing. I hope it eases off very quickly for you, and I'm glad you've been able to push for them to speed up the tests for you. Must be scary stuff.

Take good care of yourself and I'll have my fingers crossed for you.

Bram.

Oh Chaos, that sounds awful. I'm sorry you have being go through that. I'm glad you didn't let them wait 12 weeks for the patch though! That is far too long to be in that much pain.

Be extra careful while you are still dizzy. The last thing you need now is a fall.

Kim
