MRI results
I have Pain in right leg for 35 days , got MRI results emailed to me but I cannot make head nor tale of them. I am 37 yrs old. Can anyone help review them??
Noncontrast multiplanar MRI imaging of the lumbar spine was performed. There is mild degenerative disc space narrowing at L5-S1. Small Schmorl's node deformity involves the superior L3 endplate. Diminished T2-weighted signal intensity due to disc degeneration is present at L2-L3 and L5-S1 levels and to a lesser degree at L4-L5. Slight bilateral facet hypertrophy is present in the mid to lower lumbar region. The inferior aspect of the conus medullaris is within the field-of-view and is normal in contour. The L1-L2 level is otherwise unremarkable. Minimal annular bulging is present at L2-L3. Minimal annular bulging is present at L3-L4. There is mild annular bulging at L4-L5. Small focus of increased T2-weighted signal intensity is present in the posterolateral aspect of the annulus to the left consistent with annular tear. Additionally there is minimal broad-based disc protrusion within and lateral to the left L4-L5 neural foramen. At L5-S1 on in addition to annular bulging, there is moderate focal ventral extradural soft tissue signal intensity in the midline and to the right of the midline representing moderate right paramedian disc protrusion which mildly displaces the adjacent ventral aspect of the thecal sac to the right and compresses the right S1 nerve as it exits the thecal sac. There is mild bilateral degenerative foraminal narrowing. IMPRESSION: Moderate right paramedian disc protrusion at L5-S1. Minimal foraminal and far lateral disc protrusion on the left at L4-L5. |
