tbi/pcs and stress from sociopath neighbor

Hello all, thought I was doing pretty good being 3-4 weeks out from my 2nd of two mild concussions since just before Christmas. Then we got 2 ft of snow starting on last Thursday and I had to run my snowblower.Got a couple hours of work in on Fri and Saturday, figured I would pace it out.

So then on Sunday, realized the reason my blower broke both the shear pins and some other damage was due to my new sociopath neighbor trying to harass me again. Found a 2 ft section of heavy galvanized chain wrapped around the blower auger. Went out to the hill next to my deck where the problem occurred and lying in the snow is a other section of chain my blower had gone over and barely missed?. Well I knew instantly the chains were placed there by my new neighbor who since October has screamed, yelled and harassed me on several occassions for no reason, and then the other big snow we had a few months ago and last time I needed to use the blower, came out several more times to yell and accuse me of "pelting" his home with rocks a d ice. He called the cops twice in 4 days back then false reporting I was damaging his home. Luckily cops came out then after 2nd report to see beautiful pristine fresh snow near his home w no sign of my blown snow anywhere near.

so this time I called cops to report criminal mischief as I am getting fed up w his escalating behaviour and I used to do law enforcement and know that these kind of bullies only escalate their behavior if left unchecked. So cop sees the chain in snow and was same cop that responded to the false reports of a few months back where they blew off his complaint. Cop talks to neighbor and comes back to tell me neighbor says the sections of chain where from his dog slipping his new chain collar. Cops says neighbor even pulls out iPhone to show cop picture he took of his dog wearing the sections of chain wrapped around dogs neck multiple times and secured w a carabineer. Cop does not believe neighbor and I point out how creative to premeditate all this w pictures and such just to have a ridiculous excuse for putting the chain into the pathway he figures I would run my blower just like I did last big snow. Cop says too hard to prove intent but will investigate some. Who would wrap 5 pounds of chain around their dogs neck w a carabineer to catch on shrubs and trees w below freezing temperatures? Meth dealer from gangland maybe.

Tried not to get too upset as I.understand that neighbor is trying to upset & "gaslight" me (form of psychological abuse, worth a Google search) so watched the dissapointing super bowl and then did some research into some trail cameras for surveillance cop recommended.

So next morning, one of worse migraine like pounding headaches I have ever had. In bed most the day, took a few doses of sumatriptan meds which barely took the edge off. Still hurting now. So I wonder how much of this pain I am in is due to the stress that the sociopath is trying to inflict upon me and how it interacts w this PCS I was feeling that I had under pretty good control? Anyone have any good links or suggestions on how to get this bully neighbor to go away, within the confines of the law. I have come up w some ideas, but am not enough of a sociopath myself to be able to carry them out, just kidding, lol. Anyway, I want to try to isolate the neighbor abuse from my recovery as much as possible. Luckily he does not know I am hurting w PCs or I think he would be trying even harder to mess w me.

Found a good quote about sociopaths to make me laugh, "sociopaths are like bacteria in a petri dish who eat, multiply and conquer until they finally just wither away and die in their waste"

Thanks for letting me vent some. Do you think my horrible headache was from the stress interacting with and somehow intensifying the PCS? Any suggestions?

mcmars,

I feel your pain. I have had to escape a paranoid schizophrenic neighbor who was constantly making trouble.

I suggest you get a wireless surveillance system and mount the cameras so your yard and such are covered. This man will be trouble. You need to take strong precautions to protect yourself.

I agree that the stress from this is not good for your PCS. It is amazing how the PCS brain becomes so sensitive to the slightest stressors. I have the same problem.

My best to you.

There are several great "kits" of surveillance equipment with cameras that you can buy to protect your home. Just do a quick google search to find a slew of them to choose from.

There is also a camera that will alert you via your smart phone if there is any motion seen by it.

Much luck!

Thanks for the support and tips. Doing better today after 15 hours of sleep. I am looking at the trail/ game cameras for documenting the sociopath next door. Still undecided, but probably will get one on order in next day. We got about a foot of snow again in last day, so wish me luck for snow blowing tomorrow. I will be armed w cop grade pepper mace, wish I had a ballistic vest, lol. I feel like I am living in a war zone. I could probably get a protection order based on his harassment in the past, but afraid it would make him act out even more.

The light sensitivity has slowly got better, but the tinnitus never seems to go away. Has that been slow for others? I remember having some problems w the ringing and not being able to hear conversations in loud restaurants about 10 years ago when I worked backstage at loud annual musical festival, but that cleared up a year after I quit. I hope I get my hearing back.

Hi so sorry to hear about your insane neighbour, on top of your struggle.
In answer to tinnitus question. I suffered really bad with it at the start of my injury, 17 months ago.
I still get it now but I use it as an indicator of over doing it.
It's my body telling me to slow up. So I listen to my body and rest.

Things will improve but as you know it will take time.

Good luck with your neighbour.

The same thing happens to me! In regards to the tinnitus.

I had it really bad right constantly after the injury (which was about 3.5 year ago) and it lasted strong and loud for a good 6-12 months. It slowly went away and reduced itself almost completely, if not completely, in the last year or so.

Now it comes back pretty bad if I need to rest. After I rest, it goes away.
