Neurologists and nerve damage
Hi ,
This may seem to be a stupid question , but I would like to make sure. For dental nerve damage would it be a Neurologist or a Dentist that would attend to this condition ? Regards Nick |
Nick,
Depending on the exact cause of the problem, whether it be anatomical and/or disease induced you may need to be under the care of a few different specialists. You would see an oral surgeon or an oral maxillofacial surgeon and sometimes a neurologist. A general dentist would be part of the team but mainly in the fabrication of any dental appliance that might be needed and for routine follow up care. Sometimes a pain management physician is necessary also. Bryanna Quote:
