I'm posting this message to Steff out of sheer despertion. I have attempted to respond to your private message "umpteen" times, Steff, but with no success. How I ever "reached" you that one and only time, I don't know...pure luck, I guess. When I tried to reply to your message, a screen appeared with your message but, seemingly, there was no place for me to respond...just didn't want you to think I wasn't interested nor was ignoring you. I have admitted to you that I am a computer illiterate...actually, a real dunce when it comes to computers and this has been "proof of the pudding"! To the rest of you...please excuse my OT intrusion but I knew of no other way to be in touch with Steffi. If anyone wants to take on the "chore" of teaching me how to navigate the private messaging process, I'd be so grateful. However, if no one opts to do this, I will certainly understand...and, again...I apologize for the intrusion.

you can just type above or below the message or highlight and delete it all and then type your reply.

Thank you so much for responding to my "plea" for help with private messaging. I will follow your instructions and we'll see what happens. As I've told Steffi, I am a real computer illiterate, but I won't give up...and with help from people like you, I WILL "master" this! Thank you so much....

I just saw your message on the "big board"...had just attempted to write to you at the pm site...not sure you will receive that. A computer wizard, you said. I think NOT. In the message I attempted to send from the pm site, I assured you that I have received your messages...it's MY messages from that site that I question whether or not you have received. There's always a message in the space that has your user ID that states that there is no such user ID!!!! However, that's the only space where I seem to be able to write anything to you. Please don't give up on me...YET!!!

are you clicking on steffi's username to send the pm? when you click on her name a little menu pops up. it will say send steffi oo1 a private message. try using that instead of typing in her name.

or you can just hit reply to any pm you have gotten from steffi.

I have tried just about everything, Curious EXCEPT to click on Steffi's user name in the box...will try that next. Just "hitting reply" brings me to the box with Steffi's user ID...have been writing messages there, and when the screen with the box appears with Steffi's user name, I write my message...and after my message appears in the box, a message states that Steffi's user name is unknown!!! However, I haven't tried clicking on Steff's user name...so, we'll see. Either I am the computer illiterate that I've already claimed to be...OR...it could be that I am using webtv and not our computer...although, the webtv allows me to do most things that a computer will. Anyway...thank you so much, Curious, for trying to help me. I don't give up easily as you probably have already determined!!!

Therese...I don`t want to be this much trouble and cause you" computer fright" .I think all your mails have reached me...I really do.
But it is so lovely you want to get this right.
Talking of computers...I was once prescribed this mega strong pill for severe sleeping disorders...ZOPICLONE i think it was called...well don`t take it if you are ever offered it... anyone..or if you do ever need it then follow the directions to go to bed within 10 minutes.I sat at the computer and hallucinated.No...not about Brad Pitt but that the computer keys were just aching to be ripped off :confused:
So...with great gusto and a grin the size of the Nile I gaily started to rrrrrrrrrrip off these keys. Oh man...did I have fun.The floor was littered with the alphabet the next morning and I hoped I`d get away with it by blinking innocently and exclaiming;
Oh my...how on earth did they get there? :rolleyes:
It didn`t wear...strangely enough.
And on another occassion,after taking the said ZOMBIE PILL..I sat at the computer but conked out and fell off my chair like a dead parrot...creating a hole in my chin when I hit the tiled floor.
Anyone watching from the pub across the road would have wet themselves laughing.
Now you see me.Now you don`t.
So....Therese...you think YOU have computer problems? Think again girl!!!

I am resorting to the "big board" again, Steffi, to ask the question that I THOUGHT I sent to you three times at the pm, i.e., have you received my e-mails? I just want to know that this mode of communication is "working" since I am uncertain as to the "certainty" of my private messaging!!!! At least if I know that the e-mails are reaching you, then, I will feel that
there is a sure way to be in contact. I'm sure that all who have read these many "dunce-like" messages of mine...especially those who have tried to help me...Curious...JO55...and you, too, Steffi would never believe that I am college educated...and one might question the advantage of having that "piece of paper" that validates such education...I think that I, myself, have reached that point!!! I have to say that I've never felt so stupid in my entire life...but, then, there's a time and place for everything!!!
Okay, Steff...just need to know about the e-mails...a line of two will do...even a word or two, e.g., "yes"..."no". If you have not received my e-mails, then they must be out there in cyberspace because they haven't been returned to me which is the usual thing when an e-mail cannot reach its destination. Someone else could just be having a laugh or two...and I suppose that's "ok", too, but I'd rather that the intended recipient..YOU, STEFFI, be the one who is laughing!!! Do you see what lengths I will pursue to be able to be in contact with you? I even "open myself up" to all here on this forum at the risk of being deemed STUPID!!!

Okay...I'll just wait to see what evolves from this dissertation...........
