The ticker I use on a low carb forum I have to manually change the numbers as my weight changes.....maybe this is the same since it comes from same place??

bandwidth and linking issues...

I think OBT had a very open generous bandwidth situation.
It was run off a private server..etc. We had many graphics in our smilies too,
and chatrooms (which when they were installed I recall led to a crash)

But here, it seems that bandwidth and control of linking would
be an issue in the signature function. Now that Ticker allows linking
so that the time can be factored into the graphic...many other places DO
NOT accept linking.. So linking in the signature may be an issue here.

Or maybe it is a default..and we just have to request the default be
changed.

I certainly had my own confusions posting a small graphic in my own signature, and I don't understand the internet well, but often there is a "reason" for something.

Now that this forum is establishing itself, perhaps some more gifts of graphics will be forthcoming? But if not, we should understand that too.
Just my opinion.

I think you're right (in the comp n tech forums) Lara, about the img tag being on for only admins and mods. I've asked other people to test it and they get the same results as you.

Thanks for the help

Thanks all,
It makes sense and I really am so thankful for all those that really put a lot of time into trying to resolve the mystery. Great caring friends!
I accept the answer that it is not an option to use and can stop burning the brain out now, LOL!

I just thought it was something stupid I was doing wrong.
Well, guess I focus on a new venture....finding discount tickets to the parks in Orlando.

Thanks again,
Di

Should be all fixed now.

mrsD 09-29-2006 03:59 PM

Oh, cool....

It's fixed.... and the "signature struggle" is now over!
What a bear it was! (for me at least).

I am still not going to "touch" anything for a while... whew!

Thanks for the fix, DocJohn!:D

Wow

To the inteligent minds that figured it out :D
To the friends that cared to pursue :)
and to Doc John who so quickly fixed it ;)

I do have such fun with tickers!
Thanks GANG!
