Lyrica and ketamine compound no relief

I've been taking Lyrica 75 mg 2x a day and the ketamine compound 3x a day for about a month now. I haven't noticed any difference yet except no hair on my left knee, and more redmarbling. I still have high pain level but am out of my lortabs. I go to see my PM Dr on the 13th and will address this to him and see what he says. Even hot soaks don't help very much. I use a heating pad and still nothing except my leg is warm until I take it off. Any suggestions?

Hi Allandra,
So sorry to hear of your difficulties. The goofy weather we're having might have something to do with it. I know it effects me.
I just changed meds from Lyrica to Gabapentin and Amitryline and so far so good. I also take Cymbalta.
It's tricky to find the right cocktail that works sometimes. I guess the best thing to do is keep on trying.
Best of luck to you...

Before finding out I was pregnant I was on gabapentin. The weather here is nice. Up in the 70s today. Spring is hitting here. I can't take amitryptiline because it causes really bad mouth ulcers. I mean not even being able to drink water bad. I might have to either get a stronger dose of this lyrica or something else. My PM Dr wants to start off slow then take it from there. I am still trying to do things as usual but some days its really hard. I might ask about the cymbalta. I'm also wondering if maybe this neurologic supplement is messing with me.

Your doc probably knows this but just in case, the recommended max dose of Lyrica is 600 mgs. Good luck...

The dose of Lyrica you are taking is tiny - I'm surprised your doctor hasn't had you start to titrate it up during the month you have been taking it. Since you have started with it, it would certainly be worth requesting a plan to increase the dose at an appropriate rate to see if you can get pain relief with it. It would be a shame not to give it a good try since it might work for you and give you good relief.

In conjunction with a host of other medication, I have found Cymbalta helpful for pain relief - insofar as any medication is helpful with CRPS pain. I did find that at the lower dose of 30mg per day it did nothing, it was only once I increased it to the normal adult therapeutic dose of 60mg per day that it worked for me. I noticed the difference almost immediately.

He took me off the lyrica and back on gabapentin 400mg 3x a day. He also wants me to seriously consider getting an SCS. I am very leery of having surgery, especially so invasive a surgery.
