Social Security Disability/ Representative payee and getting it changed

Social Security Disability stated I have to have a representative payee. I want to be my own payee. I have been given 3 different ways to do this. One was get a note from a doctor, two was call the 1-800-772-1213 number and give them the contact info for a doctor, do not send a letter from a doctor. Three was visit your local social security office and give the info for a doctor for social security to send him forms to fill out. Does anyone know the correct method to become my own payee?

Thanks!

Appears you made a duplicate posting. I already replied to your 2nd post: http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/thread200951.html

I merged the two threads together.
