cbt/exposure therapy for OCD

Hi,

I am new to this forum. I have rather bad general anxiety/panic/OCD that started age 6. Have been getting my meds from a regular doctor and seeing a psychologist for more general therapy.

Anyway. I am afraid my regular MD is about to refer me to a psychiatrist again and if I tell them how bad my OCD is I am sure they are going to immediately insist I get a new psychologist who can do CBT for OCD since that is the best practice these days for ocd sufferers (besides meds).

Have any of you all on this forum done this sort of therapy for OCD?

P.S. I also have PTSD and sometimes depression, but anxiety is the main thing. thanks :)

CBT and DBT

I haven't had CBT for OCD, but I get both CBT and DBT for my anxiety. I have moderate to severe generalized anxiety with depression. I'll admit that I like the DBT better, personally, but the CBT also works. It's really a sort of gentle way of reprogramming yourself. I am still very much in the process, but I've had some pretty big progress so far. Were there more specific questions that you had? :D
