The Effects of Exercise & Update

Exercise has been overall very good for me. It gives me energy and lessens my headaches. I am doing cardio for about 30-40 minutes each day. One down side of doing exercise is that I get tingling feelings at night more when I exercise. This is especially true when I exercise late in the day. I wonder if anyone knows why this is.

I have reached 7 months post concussion, and my healing has been a combination of: learning my limitations (taking it easier and pacing myself), learning work-arounds, accepting my situation, dropping caffeine and alcohol, less sugar more vitamins, and becoming more active and engaged in a way that works for me. I'd say I'm at 75%, with low grade headaches every day and brain fogginess on bad days. I've applied for part time jobs and plan to enroll in graduate school again come May, taking one class at a time.

I am on Nortiptyline, an antidepressant, which I believe worked for my headaches at first but is no longer much help. It has side effects for me which is shakiness at night and feeling hungry. I still take Gabapentin for twitching and tingling at night throughout body.

I'm looking forward to going off Nortriptyline, continuing exercise, slowly introducing work and school, and continuing to make a new life out of all this messiness of post concussion syndrome. It's been a blessing in many ways. For the first time in my life, I feel like I am a resilient person. Many people have supported me, although some people have not. It's been a real eye opener. Thanks to everyone here!
