Decorah Eagle update

I've put the link in my signature. ;)

There's a bird in the nest tonight. Just standing, not nestled in, yet. It's snowing here in Iowa, and the Decorah area (3 hours north of me) is in the blizzard warning area. Do not fear! Eagles are quite used to such weather.

I've been checking in there every night, and this is the first time one has occupied the nest at night. EGGS ARE FORTHCOMING!

I'm watching them too. Waiting for the eggs.:) Every time
I look in there, there is new snow on the nest.

Yes, it's been a snowy year here!

First egg laid today.

They have 3 eggs, as usual. It is finally SPRING:yahoo: here in Iowa, and I hear water running in the background. The nest is near a fish hatchery and you can see the water, out from under the ice and snow at last.

Thank you for creating this thread!

I am watching them, and the Bald Eagles in Pittsburgh...the Hays Eagles. They have 3 eggs and it is the first time they have built their nest here. I am finding it to be so exciting and interesting! :D

wow, what an amazing looking bird.
Just checking it out for the first time.

Thanks for posting!

p.s. I checked out some of the other ones too.
The Eaglecrest Wildlife one in Ca is an interesting set up.
I just saw owls in their nest. :)

... where did it go?

Edited to add: Found it.

Yup, our local news reported the pip (hole in the egg) in the evening newscast yesterday.

I peeked at the video feed (link in my signature!) today and happened to catch the parents changing places. Saw half an egg and a gray fluff ball!

Another one hatched.

brrrrrrrrrrrrrr, looks cold in that nest!
