I look in there, there is new snow on the nest.:rolleyes:

First egg laid yesterday.

Excellent! She looks a lot more active, vigilant and watchful now that she has a potential offspring. She is showing signs of a great parent :).

That snow should melt quickly, starting today. (whew!) This has been the 9th coldest winter in Iowa; coldest in about 35 years. My electric bill - :eek:! Wish I could just snuggle down like the eagles.

She is indeed a great parent, Erika. For those who don't know, this pair has been together since 2007. They have successfully raised to fledging 14 eaglets.

In this world of violence and uncertainty, watching this family of eagles is very calming and comforting. Thanks for posting about them. :)
