Gabapentin -dry mouth & ...
so I am only taking 200 at night of gabapentin. I am waking up all night long. My mouth is so dry you almost have to pry it open. I have water by my bed. Does this side effect wear off?
Also I know Lyrica is supposed to calm nerves does gabapentin calm the firing? Do any of you feel just shaking all over when the nerves get to going especially at night. I get real shaky and cold feeling. Thanks |
There are many drugs that cause dry mouth. Sometimes they add up together...so you should look at all the drugs you take RX and OTC. If you get stuffed up at night, try the Breathe Right strips to open your nose up, as you may be sleeping with your mouth open. A shot of Afrin nasal spray at night can also open up your nostrils some, but use very sparingly as you can get hooked on it.
This is the post from the Subforum here on the relationship of gabapentin and Lyrica: http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/post829091-8.html There is much useful information on the subforum that you could benefit from reading. ;) |
This can be a problem...

My whole body buzzes and vibrates. It's so disconcerting.

Hi,
I've been using Epleptin 300 mg, 3 times a day for the past just more than a year. This is more or less the same drug as Gabapentin. I have also experienced the dry mounth issue, but I can say to you in all honesty, it passed and is very effective for my burning and painful muscles. Hang in there and strongs to you  |
I used a humidifier when I was on gabapentin and it really helped with the dry mouth. I would wake up and my tongue would be stuck to the roof of my mouth.
