So happy I saw an OSTEOPATH for my PCS . . .

I fell 4 1/2 months ago and have not been able to work . . . have MANY of the symptoms and have been seeing a massage therapist and chiropractor . . . also a concussion dr who suggested I see an osteopath . . .

Am I EVER glad I did . . . The motion sickness I felt entering stores with a lot of people, fluorescent lights, motion sickness with being driven from point A to B because I haven't been able to . . . IS GONE. The fog has lifted and I feel myself after one hour with the osteopath.

Just thought I'd let you know. What was interesting was this . . . at one point during the treatment (very, very gentle . . . more so than the chiro) she was putting pressure on my chest while holding the back of my head and neck with the other hand applying pressure there . . . and she put that pressure on my chest a long time . . . anyhow I mentioned to her that actually felt good and that I put pressure on my chest with a pillow and my hands in order to sleep on my back because I never felt fully grounded since the fall. . . like I couldn't sleep on my back without something holding me down . . . after a while she said "there, now you're in the driver's seat again . . . you're grounded". I asked her what she meant and she said "you were pinging back and forth around here" motioning with her hands over the right side of my head "and now you're in the pilot's seat again". . . I didn't notice anything until I left the office . . . the ride home was great . . . I was "present" in the conversation with the driver and with people since . . . this was just last Thursday. She said we have more work to do . . . I'm seeing her again . . . but this is the first real breakthrough that I have hope to returning to normal.

I still feel pressure and can feel "electrical currents" going through my brain when I'm doing too much but I have a clear mind and feel like myself again.

Just thought I'd let you know about my experience. Also, if checking into an osteopath . . . make sure they've had the four years plus education and NOT the one day workshop that gives people a certificate.

Sorry so long . . .

That's Great

I have had 10 sessions with an Osteopath (he has the 6 years of education from France) however initially I felt really awful, migraines, sleeping a lot etc. The first 4 weeks were really awful.

I am having sacrial cranial therapy and moving the bones in my head may differ from what you are addressing.

I do feel better physically but I am not sure I have improved my pcs symptoms.

I am quite impressed with their knowledge and skill. I think it is really a worth while experience.

Again every head injury is different and I am very happy this worked for you.

I agree, every injury is different and just wanted to throw it out there for someone who hasn't thought of trying an osteopath . . . you never know, it may help. :)

Be careful making too much of this one treatment. Every osteopath is vastly different. They run the gamut from believing in energy medicine to being focused on gentle massage and manipulation techniques based on measurable body mechanics. The research shows this to be true. If she helped you, great. Others should not expect the same results.

Update one week later:

I can tell my neck adjustment is out again, it felt AWESOME for five days . . . have some symptoms back. . . but just want to say I feel more like myself than I have since the fall, I have more energy, and am singing all the time again . . . I felt numb and feelingless for so long after the fall . . . symptoms really, really reduced. Can't wait to see her again. She is also a RMT, and she uses the "Hands on" therapy that is based on a highly developed sense of touch . . . she was actually doing something, not just holding her hands over me . . .
