Nicotine effects question

I dip Skoal and was wondering if it was smoking that hinders progress or if it is the nicotine itself? My PN is progressing slowly in the face of all that I know to do. I might make the 5:00 oclock news if I try to quit right now as the snuff might be my last vice. Thanks, Ken in Texas.

Nicotine itself, constricts blood vessels and affects nerves and the heart. When the nerves don't get enough circulation, there is tingling/burning which can be PN or just paresthesias.

Chewing tobacco also presents a risk of mouth cancers.

It would probably be best to quit.

Inhaling cigarettes smoke carries other toxins, like cyanide, carbon monoxide and carcinogens into the blood.

...And please don't get taken in by the e-cigarette scam. Less does not mean none, cleaner does not mean clean, healthier does not mean healthy, and safer does not mean safe.
