any ideas i have,
disc dessication at c2/3 c3/4 c6/7
intervertable disc and degeneration at c4/5 levels due to a large posterior disc osteophytic protrusion.
i have had c5/6 done 9yrs ago fused.more pronounced at lover level associated with spinal canal stenosis.the cord at this level is thinner with subtle changes in t2 sequences suggesting chronic myelopathy.
any clue as to what this means pls

What are your sx (symptoms)? If you tell us exactly where you have any pain, numbness & tingling, heaviness, weakness and/or referred sx, etc. (the base of the neck, back of the arm, hand[s]/finger[s], top of head, scapular muscles, etc.), we would be better equipped to help interpret the written report with you.

Obviously, you can look up any vocab you may need to in the dictionary, so the terms and context can be understood. Also if you could add back any specific measurements (like the exact size and placement of the bone spur @/just above c-4 / c-5, for example), as well as any descriptive terms concerning the findings (words like "subtle,"mild," "moderate" etc.) contained in the written report.

Depending on where your sx are located (keep in mind that you may be experiencing some so-called "referred" sx), Tim, the docs will hopefully be able to come up with an accurate diagnosis (dx) for you, based on the film and the written report.

Once you have the dx, you and your docs can come up with the best treatment plan so you can start to recover.

As far as interpreting results, of course we will try to solve the puzzle as well, but understand that we are not radiographers or physicians or anything like that! We can only offer years of "internal" experience!

What kind of doctor ordered the scan?

Welcome to neuro talk. You found a great forum for information. It would help if you posted the exact language of your MRI. There are key words in it like, "Mild" , or " severe" Most of the time they do not operate unless there is nerve cord impingement. If the boney overgrowth is touching into the nerve sac, then maybe you have to do something more. Get that second opinion before you make any decisions. What has the doctor recommended at this point? Have they suggested surgery, or therapies? Go for conservative treatment first. Have you tried some injections?
I came here to NT for the same reason you did. I just never left, as the people I met were really good to me at a time I was freaking over my own cervical issues.

hi thanks,i have 24hrs pain a little better when lying down,i have had c5/6 fussed 9yrs ago and am just the same or worse than then.the conclusion at the bottom is .there is spinal canal stenosis from c3 to c5,more so at c4/5 level due to moderately large posterior disc osteophytic protruion.the spinal cord at this level is thinned with high signal intensity on t2 sequences in keeping with chronic myelopathy.i havenumbness in feet and hands with tingling,knee gives in constant neck and lower back pain,no balance elbow pain,and clawing of the hands and toe cramps,weight loss and tiredness,its just so confusing and hard to understand :0(

Yes it is confusing when there are issues with your spine. I too had one done, then years later, 5 fused. No fun at all. However it did correct much of what was wrong.
Get your second opinion. Keep track with journal of all the pain too. Look up each word in your MRI, so that when the doctor does talk to you, you will be on top of the language he uses. What therapy has your doctor recommended so far? Bring someone with you, they can help fill in if you should miss something he says. Also doctors tend to pay attention more, when you have family or spouse in the room with you. I sure hope you can find some resolution. Pain is not something any of us wants to live with. ginnie:hug:
