Is this a disability???
Just had a meeting with my boss who has asked me if my SFN is classed as a disability because if it is I am more protected at work under law, I have read the relevant act but still not sure if it is as the wording is a bit woolly. Anyone got any idea?

This question has come up before. Unfortunately the answer is not clear-cut. PN can be a disability, but is not always; it depends on how it affects your daily life and ability to function/work.
To have a determination made involves a process. If your employer is large enough to have an HR dept/person, you might ask there, or ask your doctor to get the ball rolling. Folks in the Social Security Disability forum may have some information, as some may have gone through this step at some point. Doc |
Sounds like a pretty good boss. A lot of bosses would never suggest that. Hope it qualifies.

You might also look into the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 (FMLA).
