Has anyone had these symptoms?

I was diagnosed about a year ago when I started having ptosis and double vision. I tested positive on the blood antibody tests. My Neurologist put me on 80 milligrams of Prednisone and it cleared up the eye issues very quickly. He also prescribed pyridostigm but it doesnt do any thing for me so I rarey take it (with his ok). I take IVIG. Hr has been tapering the prednisone but I had been stuck at 20 MG for about 6 months. He just reduced it to 20 one dy, 15 the next. Yesterday was the first 15 MG day. I also pushed my self a little to much yesterday with some walking and some driving. Today the double vision is back.

It is not the same as before. Then one eye was seeing one view, the other an offset. If I closed either eye the double vision cleared. Today if I close either eye the view is the same. I see double with the second view a little below and about 1/3rd as dark. The darker view dominates and I may have had the issue for a few days and just thought I just had a little blurred vision. I did not realize the double vision was back until I looked at he TV guide on screen. I still first just thought it was the TV.

What has me puzzled the fact that the double vision is there even with one eye closed. Has anyone had this.

I havent had breathing issues but I am very tired especially in the eyes.

I found it particularly hard to wean off prednisone. Once you step down, it takes several days or a week to recoup the ground you have lost. You shouldn't step down again until you feel stable on the current dose. At some point near the end of the weaning, your doctor should switch to prednisone every other day. This help teach the adrenal glands to start functioning again.

The mestinon may help relieve some of the symptoms that came back.

I currently had to go back up to 20 mg and now I have to start the weaning all over again.

good luck

I started tapering Friday from 20 mg a day to 20/15 on alternate days. I have been very tired but that is the normal since MG. My first taper to 15 was Saturday. I really believe the taper was not related to the issue. I had had some blurred vision for several days.

I took a Diclofenac for some knee pain Sunday morning. It has some side effects but again I believe the problem had already started. I made sure my knee doctor knew of the MG when she described the Diclofenac. That was the first time I took the Diclofenac.

The DV is not as pronounced as it was yesterday but it is still there over 24 hours after taking the Diclofanac. I am waiting for a call back from my neurologist. I really dont wont to go back to ER and the hospital again.

It could be a drug side effect. If you are feeling okay, you might see an optometrist. But then they would numb your eyes with Atropine, and your MG might get worse! ;)

Read this.

You should stop the drug if you have vision problems!!! Talk to your pharmacist and doctor again.

Can you take Tylenol?

NSAIDs might not make MG worse, but that doesn't mean the side effects can't be serious.

And taking them WITH Prednisone can be a problem. It's not only a single drug, but how that drug interacts with anything else you are taking (or eating) that can adversely affect you.

I think you need to discuss this with a doctor pronto. I hope you can get some relief from the knee pain!

What you describe is Monocular Diplopia. Normally that is not considered to be a MG symptom.

However that is a pretty accurate description of my DV. I also have assorted other MG symptoms, but mot diagnosis yet as I am waiting for the results of the antibody test.

I have the double vision, and a distinct shadowing effect in each eye, almost like double vision, plus a couple shades different in color between the two. just got a shrug from docs over it... plus breathing swallowing etc... diag=MG
