Wahl's Protocol
I was wondering if anyone on here is currently following the Wahl's protocol? My dear friend just sent me the book and I'm hooked. I had already cut out many of the foods to start with before receiving the book and now I'm working my way through the rest. Anyone have feedback??

I don't know the Wahl's, KerOpi. Please enlighten us. I follow the Swank diet, which is very low in unsaturated fat as its basic principle. I have been on it for decades, except for adding more eggs than Swank advised. But I have not heard of Wahl's.

I'm still reading the book, but Terry Wahl's is an MD who was diagnosed with RRMS and in 3 years that changed to secondary progressive. She worked in a teaching hospital from her motorized chair but continued to decline so she decided to take matters into her own hands so to speak and figure out how best to help herself through diet and supplements. She is no longer in a wheelchair, walks without assistive devices. She is currently working through grants to do more research to prove her protocol as treatment for all Auto Immune disorders. She has done some clinical trials and has testimonals from the "Wahl's Warriors" in her book.
I haven't watched her Tedx talk yet but I have included links to the book and the talk here. I am really excited about this book it explains so much to me about my condition and what I need to do to change things. http://www.amazon.com/Wahls-Protocol...wahls+protocol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLjgBLwH3Wc |
I have a friend who claims that the diet has all but cured her. She is doing very well!

I FOLLOW IT!!!
IT DOES WONDERS!!! within literally 3 days my numbness was decreasing!! Reading her book now. Very inspiring I don't know if its the placebo effect or what not.... but IT WORKS FOR ME |
It seems to me that someone on here had read her book and was following her plan. I can't remember who it was but hopefully they'll come along and give you some tips, ideas, and let you know how they are doing.
Dr. Wahl's journey is pretty amazing. Good luck and let us know how you are doing with her protocol. |
2 weeks and counting on the diet and one week with the at home Estim therapy.
I feel good on the diet, I already stopped eating 80% of the things she said to stop eating so it wasn't too hard to get started. I'm trying to find palatable chicken liver recipes that go with the diet, everything is deep fried or coated in flour. The E-stim is the most surprising help so far. My physical therapist taught me how to do it, I bought a machine and an anatomy book and my hubby hooks me up to 2 hours a night. We work through different muscle groups abs and back one night, legs the next. I can not believe how improved all my muscle spasity is after just one week. I am sitting up straighter and have almost no pain in my back when I'm standing. Walking has slowly begun to get smoother and I'm looking forward to increased endurance. I really would recommend anyone reading this to pick up a copy of the book. It reads very easy, is broken up into small 1 1/2 - 2 page sections so you don't have to digest a large amount of info all at once. She really did set it up for people with cognitive difficulties to follow. I will keep you posted as I go through the process. |
Thanks for the update! It sounds encouraging and I am glad it is working for you so far. Keep us posted on how you are doing with her protocol.
