Is it bad to let you dogs do your dishes?
 

:p So how horrible am I? I currently have a frying pan in the middle of the kitchen floor. The #1 greyhound cleaned out most of it, but the pug is attempting to suck the steel off. I admit it, I'm supremely lazy and I knew my dogs would enjoy it immensely. I cooked their weekly ground beef and set the pan on the floor after I'd scraped it out. If this grosses you out, don't come to my house and have dinner - especially if I'm using the large frying pan....

But, if you have MS fatigue (or are really lazy like me) it's a great way to cut down on the extra work you need to do in the kitchen!:p

I won't tell about your frying pan if you don't tell anyone that my smallest kitty has a taste for fur -- he likes to eat the fur off the carpet -- saves on vacuuming :D

Heck, I figure, if we can kiss our doggies and kitties, we can certainly share cookware with them :p

Of course I do sanitize them in the dishwasher, then. That's what I tell my guests, anyway.:D

Want to talk about pets' gross eating habits? I have one cat who often throws up just after eating, and another one (now deceased) who, whenever she heard the ralphing, would slowly hoist herself up off the rug, lumber over to the scene, and clean it up for me--although I did always try to beat her to it, just on general principles.

I'm about to cry. I feel like I'm at Cheers Bar - where everybody knows your name (or at least everybody else is as stupid about pets as I am).

Sally - your post reminded me of when my grandmother came to visit. The cat would hop up on the counter and my mom would shoo her off proclaiming loudly, "I don't know why she thinks she can walk on the counter!" Poor cat, as soon as g-ma left, it was business as usual!

My ex would be flipping out!!! He fathered Mr Clean. But even he fed our big old Siamese from the kettle when we finished our scampi spagetti sauce. (shrimp, egg, heavy cream and brandy with a little red sauce). Too good to waste:D

We didn't use to let the cats walk on the dining room table, the kitchen table, or the kitchen counters. We would indignantly shoo them off.

This despite the fact that we'd find cat hair, cat litter, and cat throw-up in all three places, and get up in the night to find them sleeping on the table. We knew they were doing it but pretended we were upholding some principle anyway.

When the four old cats died, a new cat arrived and did whatever she pleased at any time of day. First we let her get away with walking all over the dining room table (since we rarely use it for eating). Then we stopped caring about the kitchen table, since we only use part of it for eating.

I still don't "let" her walk around the kitchen counters. But I knew that was futile on the day I saw her tracking the neighbor's tomcat from our dining room table. When he moved out of sight toward the back yard, she immediately raced into the kitchen and sprang up on the divider between the sinks so she could see out the kitchen window, as if she'd done it a million times.

Sigh. The animals have won before the contest even started! Bless their cute little hearts.

The remaining old kitty finds it very amusing that she, too, is now allowed to walk around on the table with impunity, after years of being shooed off.

Luke (#1 Greyhound) is a very clean dog. Now Yodda, on the other hand, I would question Yodda's cleaning habits. :eek:

Oh yes, this is Cheers alright. When Greta walks in, everyone should say "Hi Greta!" Where's the frying pan today?
