Flora Dopa Pet Scan

I had a F-Dopa Pet Scan done at Long Island Jewish Hospital -Northshore.
Read by David Eidelberg.

The findings were "NORMAL."

I have since read that due to brain compensation, early in the diagnosis (mine was) a Normal reading can be deemed false.

Does anyone have any knowledge on this?

It was a very expensive test not covered by insurance and now I don't believe I can rely on the results.

Any help would be appreciated.

Don't know the answer to your question other than I would assume every procedure has a small chance of false positives and negatives. However, I do know that the facility you were tested in is considered one of the best in the world in neuro-imaging. Moreover, you doctor is one of the pioneers of functional imaging for neurological disorders. Have you contacted him with your questions?
