Benefits of music study on brain

I think this is an important therapy area for people with brain injury. My audiologist had suggested it was a good idea to take piano lessons or guitar to help with auditory processing disorder as a result of brain injury. And music heals the soul.
I am now at a stage where I can listen to a bit of music once in a while (and i do mean a bit!) and remember the joy there was in that.

Am hopeful if I keep working at it, music will cease to be noise and once again give me pleasure.
