eBay hacked - change your password
 
News outlets are reporting that eBay has been hacked and users are advised to change their passwords, ASAP.

Yes, but eBay only realized how much info had been compromised a couple weeks ago.

Hackers are such a pain.

Gosh it wasn't easy to find the actual ebay info on this...You'd think it would be on the main log in page...
It sounds like later today they will send a email suggesting password changes...

Companies often try to cover up breeches. They don't want to erode consumer confidence with the, um, truth.

eBay is swamped with people wanting to change their passwords. Just tried it. They tell you that when you try to sign in. They say your account is secure and not to worry about anything and to try and sign in again and then you can change it. They also say that no activity can occur on your account until your password is reset. So I doubt that you can buy or sell anything until you
change your password. Good deal on their part I think.

My daughter just told me that if we use the same password and email address that we use for eBay on any other sites, then we need to go to all our other sites and change the passwords there as well.
