Need Advice PLEASE

I am in my 30's female that had suffered a TBI, spinal trauma, neck trauma etc in 2011. I have a lot of symptoms that resembles MS plus my post concussion syndrome. I am going to a new neurologist this week because my pain, movement, muscles, circulation has went down hill. We will start diagnostics to see if I have MS. My question is has anybody else had a TBI with spinal injuries developed MS? I appreciate any response

Take care:grouphug:

Welcome to the MS home of NeuroTalk Mia.:)

It has come to be known that any major physical stress, such as a TBI
and other traumas can possibly trigger a MS attack. Not cause but trigger.

Let us know how your testing goes and how you are doing.

Welcome to the MS forum on NT, Mia!

I agree with Sally! Physical and emotional stress as well as an illness can trigger an MS attack, but not cause MS. I do know of one person, not on these boards, that had a severe accident such as yours. MS was diagnosed as an incidental finding. The accident didn't cause the MS and he didn't know he had MS, it just showed up in testing due to ongoing symptoms.

Please let us know how everything goes with your new neuro!

MiaVita,

My sister has had MS for over 25 years. I've had my brain injury for 18 months. We have MANY of the same symptoms. Our mom was just commenting on that yesterday along with our husbands.

If we have to be like this, the blessing is we understand each other. Our family is great but unless u have it it's hard to imagine.

I hope you get good results from your tests.

Jace

Thank You

I just want to give a big thank's to all for the support. I do not get much support from my family. I'm more a burden to them.:grouphug:

Having support and people to talk to is vital to coping and our social needs. Thank you too for listening to me when I need it.
