L5-S1 large broad based protrusion
 

Hello! A very large dump truck with a full load rear-ended me several weeks ago. Back pain ever since. MRI results show large broad based protrusion causing moderate thecal canal and moderate to severe right forminal stenosis. I am having pain down my leg and numbness, tingling and burning all the way to my feet. also now I am having urinary retention and hesitation. I am seeing the neurosurgeon tomorrow. I am concerned about permanent nerve damage if I try conservative treatment instead of surgery. any thoughts or experience??
