Hi,

I can't believe there's a pet/wildlife forum on here? How did I miss that?

Anyway, I have two contributions to add here.

The first is a bobcat that appeared on my backyard wall the other morning. Nothing like a bobcat staring you down at 7 in the morning. Btw, I live in an L.A. suburb and we don't usually have bobcats roaming around.

The second picture is my son's Shepard mix (Murphy) and his pals. I like the picture because it looks like they should all be able to talk. Plus, I can't believe they all cooperated and sat still for the photo.

I went looking for images of more Bobcats, as I live elsewhere and have never seen one.

They appear to have some of the same genetic markings as my pet cat which is a striped tabby. We were just talking about tabby cats on another thread recently. The background is very interesting.

It was a pretty big cat. I dont know why the picture appears sideways. It was correct when I attached it. I dont know if you can see it clearly enough, but the bricks on the wall are 12 inches. It was first on the shed below, which is really at my eye level and he effortlessly hopped onto the wall. Now I need to be careful when watching my son's chihuahua mix.

It is something to do with the feature and it's programming
For the hand held rotation. Sometimes it happens even if you
adjust that rotation in a program before sending the photo.

Our first house was in a decent size city, miles from any parks or suburbs/"nature". One morning a groundhog/woodchuck, raccoon, & opossum/"possum" appeared in our backyard. What made it especially unusual is that raccoons & opossums are nocturnal, and woodchucks are diurnal, and these three were traveling together! :Dunno:

We have a lot of raccoons when our fig tree is producing. Same with opossums. All winter long we had a family of 4 raccoons living under our house. They didnt cause us any problems, other than a couple of nights when it sounded like they were coming through the bathroom floor.

I was always afraid to close up and nail shut the crawlspace they used because I didn't want to lock them in. At night I'll see one walking outside and I count them off as they pass our sliding glass door. Each one is about thirty seconds behind the other one.

On another nature note, a baby dove finally flew the nest under our patio. The doves know us and don't mind us being around. They have seen me chase off other types of birds when they attack the nest. Baby doves look like they have a fur coat on when they're little. They will hang out for a while in our yard now and in a few days be gone for good.

Its amazing how much wildlife is in our 'concrete jungle'.

. We had a pair get into out roof a couple years ago; the noise was unbelievable (just the other side of our bedroom wall). I can't do roofs anymore, so we had to call in an exterminator. He trapped & relocated them in a short time, and sealed up the hole afterward.
