20 weeks out

Hi. I am Grace, and along with my dystonia/dyskenesia, I have suffered back pain for 30 years. February 3rd 2014, I had major spinal surgery. Out of the 7 passages for the Sciatic nerve, 5 were impinged. The surgeon cleaned all that out, then, due to a cracked S1 vertebrae, did a fusion of L5 S1.
2 rods. 4 screws.
But, the pain I have endured for 3 decades is gone. At 20 weeks from surgery, I still have some restrictions regarding torsion motions, but I am pain free except for some lingering surgery pain. I fought having a fusion until they had too much evidence showing it was necessary. My Neurospinal Surgeon is brilliant.
I am so grateful to be pain free.

Hi Grace

So good to hear an update from you, I do remember when you posted back in February about your worries and fears. Such good new to hear you are doing well and finding life with lesser pain. I'm doing the happy dance for you :winky:

Are you allowed to reveal your surgeon's name. I am looking for a good neurosurgeon in Manhattan?
