Anyone else get rid of ON without meds?

About two months ago I developed what my chiropractor thinks is ON. I agree with him. I have pain on the left side along the ON. It is a throbbing pain, mimics a migraine. Also there is a constant mild dull ache at the base of my skull right where the nerve starts. I feel if I could pop it the pain would go away.

For two years I have had pain in the left of my neck and upper back and this seems to be some how related to the ON pain. Also the onset of the ON corresponded with a lot of stresses. So, my thought is the ON is related to stress and the tension pains in my neck and back. I have found that by relaxing my jaw and neck (not easy) it helps ease the headache but not the dull ache.

Since this is so recent and seems related to stress and existing neck pain I am scheduled to see a physical therapist. I'm hoping to sort this out before it becomes terminal. Is this possible? Anyone have any positive stories to share because all I seem to find are horror stories. I am 36 years old and have no idea how I am going to get through the rest of my life if I can't deal with this. I have two young children at home.
