Bach's rescue remedy

Would this be ok to try? I read reviews on amazon that it contains 27% alcohol, but people I know swear by it. However, those people haven't sustained a TBI, and that seems like a large dose of alcohol.

It's a 5x homeopathic remedy. The active ingredient is the alcohol. The rest has been diluted into oblivion. 5x means it is 0.00001 ratio. You only use a few drops. You would need 10,000 drops to get a single drop of the 'active' ingredients. If you are easily swayed by positive thought, the placebo effect may be worth it. I would not waste my money.

Thank you Mark!

This dilution is the theory behind homeopathy. Homeopathy theorizes that taking a very small amount of something that the body needs is what allows the body to heal itself.

Some people also believe in what is called "micro-dosing" which is similar but uses very small amounts of western medications to treat issues that other patients take large amounts of to treat the same condition.

It's more of a life-style choice than "right" or "wrong".

The pure homeopath believes that there is an image of the molecule left behind after the dilution. They believe that potency increases as the dilution gets higher. 6x or 0.000001 is considered the start of a high potency level.

A common arnica montana dilution would yield a single molecule is a swimming pool volume of water.

I used this stuff prior to my concussion and loved it. I'm not sure if it was a placebo effect or not, but I did really enjoy it. It could just be that spraying that stuff in my mouth occupied my mind long enough to keep it from racing. I have no clue.

I've used it too and liked the effects - but for me, for whatever reason, I think it helps more with reducing personality flaws than curing any real symptoms. (Mark might be right that it's the alcohol... who knows...) ;) BUT when it's only a couple of drops of liquid in a gallon of water, I can't imagine how that little amount of alcohol could make any kind of difference. (I get much better results from a glass of wine in the evening.) ;)

The alcohol is 27%. The 'active' ingredients are at the 5x dilution, 0.00001 A spray into the mouth could give a small alcohol dose, a very small dose, likely inhaled.

That might be true - but that's not how I took it. I would take 2-3 drops of the stuff and put it into a gallon (or a 5 gal.) bottle of water and then drink the water over the course of several days... a little bit at a time, like a sip an hour.

Wow, that would further dilute it. There are 90,000 drops to a gallon. 3 drops to a gallon would be 30,000 to 1 or 0.000033 times the original dilution of 0.00001 equals 0.00000000033 , an 11x dilution. That would be one drop of the active ingredients in 33000000000 drops or 36,666 gallons. That would be 18 drops in an Olympic size pool.
