"Soldier's Song"

Have you ever listened to a Soldier's Song ?
The cries of pain, when the world went wrong ?
Have you looked, into a Soldier's eyes ?
The tears of steel that could never cry ?
Have you ever heard, a Soldier's shout ?
Above the battle sounds, into the clouds ?
Have you ever seen, a Soldier die ?
Have you ever wondered why ?
Do you sleep in peace each night ?
Or are bombs dropping left and right ?
From the corner of your eye, can you see ?
The blood of soldiers, setting you free ?
Doctors, lawyers and bankers they may not be
But the work they do, it's for you, it's for me.

Thoughts of a Soldier


I struggle to see my objective for the sand blowing in my eyes,
I hear the sound of explosions like thunder from the sky,
My mouth is dry and my body aches,
I must push on no matter what it takes,
the lives of so many innocent keeps running through my mind,
I know this is why my country has put my life on the line,
So don't lose hope America we do this for you,
For all your soldiers bleed red, white and blue.......

I also agree we need to keep in mind the sacrifices of our veterans in all wars. That was very thoughtful of you to post those words of tribute to our veterans. A dear friend of mine also was in Nam twice and I personally lost two friends there. We proudly fly our flag on Memorial day.
