My recovery journey
I have had 2 stem cell treatments in Panama that have helped me quite a bit..
My biggest issue is due is my vision ....or lack of....lol The double vision keeps me from doing allot of things......like driving n enjoying my hobbies of fishing n wrenching on my cars I am currently doin oxygen treatments in sets of 20 sessions every few months....as money allows since I had to retire after my accident n am now on a fixed income... The oxygen has lessened tremors that I'd get on my affected side (left side) n has recovered some feeling to my face, which in turn has helped my speech The folks at the oxygen therapy have recommended that I go see Dr. E. Tobinik in Boca Raton Florida as they've seen his patients improve with his treatment/injection.. I have n appt. on July 10th! Has anyone heard or has been seen by Dr. Tobinik? ** |
How do the oxygen treatments work? And what did the stem cell treatments do?
|
It's hyperbaric oxygen chambers.......like what's used for divers...
.......you breath pure oxygen for n hour at a time while you listen to music or watch a movie.......the oxygen releases over 6 times the amount of stem cells into your blood which are the bodies repair cells ...immediately after each section you do PT n work the affected areas n the cells find their way to repair... It's also bein used to treat PTSD.....once I am aloud to post links, it'll provide better info for all to read.... |
HBOT and Etanercept injections have been discussed here on NT before. Both are expensive treatments. The need for 40 to 80 HBOT treatments makes it difficult to afford.
Unfortunately, Dr Tobinik's web site has very limited information other than he uses paraspinal Etanercept injections. I've never heard of HBOT being used for PTSD. I'll have to look into that. The research does not address PTSD specifically. It looks at PTSD symptoms that are concurrent with mTBI symptoms. There has long been an understanding that PTSD and mTBI symptoms have many overlaps. Reading the research reports, it appears that those more likely to see improvements from HBOT are those with the highest level of symptoms. It appears those that are most non-functional are likely to regain some functions. The stem cell treatments are not even available in the US. A past NT participant had stem cell therapy in China with minimal improvement, if any at all. |
