why are my eyes so red when i wake up
every day since injury eyes are bloodshot and irritated and red along with the sharp pain in back of head and vivid dreams. seeing new neurologist Monday and need a miracle just to feel ok enough to get through the day
|
One of the most common causes for red eyes is dryness. Some TBI patients do experience red, dry, gritty or burning eyes. The best guess is that this may result from a decrease in the blink rate, or poor closure of the lids. Some medications given to TBI patients, like anti-depressants, can exasperate the situation. Artificial tears or tear duct plugs will usually control the problem.
Remember to mention this at your neuro appointment. In fact, some people find it a good idea to write everything down in advance, so you don't forget what you want to say. Good Luck |

I just came here to suggest you write everything down for your appt on Monday but I see that Hockey already suggested that. thank you.
Markneil, make a list, even if you need to check out your older posts so you remember to ask about everything that is of concern to you right now. Hold on there. p.s. I'm wondering if you have anyone there at home with you this weekend who can help you get everything sorted for your appointment and to just have some company with you. Worried about you. |
After my TBI I also had allot of readiness ....due to decreased blinking n all the meds I was on.....
It helped to use natural tears n drink lots of water to flush n dilute the meds |
