Ginger tonic/tea

Does anyone know anything about this? Someone in a COPD forum started it so I tried it and Holy-Cow-It-Works.

Its supposed to be anti-inflammatory and I am breathing better, my diverticulitis improved, and it seems to be helping the neuropathy flare up I have been having since I took all those nasty antibiotics. I had to take my computer in and picked it up today on the stupid bus and my neck barely hurts from carrying it for blocks.

I am taking a little less BP med which could be a factor in all of the above but my BP is staying down better too at this point.

I don't know if it would help anyone here as I may be a little different but its easy to try. I don't know if I am preparing it to get the most out of it, I just grate some ginger and pour boiling water with a little dissolved sugar or honey over it and add some lime or lemon when it cools and steep for a few minutes and strain. That is the concentrate and I add water to serve. The other person cools the water and sugar mixture and then steeps it, I have no idea which is best.

You need to be careful if you are on anticoagulants or insulin, ask your doctor. Also it may interact with Calcium Channel Blockers and lower BP too much.

Ginger is very nice. I use it for my stomach/GI problems all the time. It is very efficient for nausea.

Just be careful and not lie down right after consuming....if you reflux any of it, you can get a horrific heartburn.

I use the capsules of extract...and a little milk.
