Increasing Mental Tolerance

I was wondering what the best ways are to increase mental tolerance, eg. how long you can read or how long you can concentrate for. I've had some success with physical tolerance by slowing increasing my heart rate, but am unsure how to do it for mental tolerance. Is it the same concept, start at say an hour of reading and increase every few days? Thanks for any responses.

my tolerance just increased through the many years I have been sick. at first I couldn't even look at a omputer. I was actually quite bedridden and unable to wash myself the first year. but over the years I have become able to astay on the computer for as long as I want.. I still have lots of troubles but the body can really really heal itself if given time, at least heal a lot.

In my experience, you need to learn the signs of brain fatigue. Then, you can work up to that fatigue point. Stop and rest or change activities before returning to the prior activity. For me, getting bleary eyed or needing to reread a line told me that my brain had had enough. I would switch activities and return later.

Over time, I could stay with the same task longer and longer.

Do not try to push your limits. It will backfire.

My best to you.
