Is counselling helpful?
I am not sure if I should see a counsellor for emotional issues(stress), as I fear that all I would say is "I am bored out of my mind, this absolutely sucks. Slow recovery is very frustrating, etc..." Not being able to go back to work is absolutely killing me, because I am bored out of my mind. I cannot do anything, cannot go to a restaurant or to a movie. I doubt talking about it would resolve much, but would like to hear about others' experiences.

If you are bothered by being home and having the injury I would absolutely suggest seeing someone. what have you got to lose. nip whatever issues re bothering you in the bud

That get you get out.......n talking to people.... After my accident I talked to a rehabilitation psychologist.......I think the guy was crazier than me....lol All he'd say was SUURE.....I UNDERSTAND....! I found some other folks in O/T, P/T therapy that had the same symptoms/issues n they understood me......we even shared the same passion.......for getting better That's my opinion....anyways! |
A good counselor who understands PCS may be able to help you learn some coping strategies.
