Dealings with the insurance company
any advice on handling the assessments ordered by the insurance company? These assessments delay my recovery, and do not provide any useful info about my injury. how did you handle them? Anyone would like to share experience? Please feel free to PM me.

What kind of insurance.. Medical? WC? Auto?
What tests are they ordering that you do not think are helpful? |
Auto insurance. PMed you, Sarah

I don't understand how assessments can delay recovery. I can see how a NeuroPsych Assessment can cause a few days of fatigue but that's about it.

Will, is this YOUR insurer, ordering the neuro-psych in an attempt to cut you off from your schedule B benefits, or the other side, trying to weaken your schedule A case?
No insurer ordered test will EVER help you, medically or otherwise. If it's your own insurer, your lawyer may well advise you to decline the test, lose your benefits and pay out of pocket for your care, rather than take an unfair test that could compromise your schedule A action - and probably see you lose your Schedule B benefits, anyway. If it's the other side, they have a legal right to examine you, so you can't avoid the test. Your lawyer, should, however, be getting a second neuro-psych by a truly unbiased clinician. No doubt your lawyer will be familiar with the neuro-psychologist in question, and will be able to direct you accordingly. |
It would be helpful if people would at least list the country they are in. That way, we can get a better understanding of the legal system they are under.
Hockey's would say, Somewhere in Canada. In the US, the state would be good because WC is different state by state. |
