Leaving for vacation Fri Morning July 18:

It is that time of year again. ;)

We will be gone about 2 months this summer, since hubby
retired in January.

We may be home early, if the weather continues to be so cold.
This week we delayed a week because of the Polar Vortex covering our destination! Some Facebook friends were suffering quite a bit with temps in the 40's at night. (we don't have heat, or electricity etc and are on the water which is typically 10 degrees colder).

So we'll see how it goes...sigh. I am shlepping my art supplies up there this year to do some drawings and paintings, too.

I will be on here briefly with my iPhone. But linking and doing searches is just too difficult for it. So expect to see me briefly here and there.

I would really like to urge others here to help out our newbies, who arrive while I am gone. Show them how to navigate, etc.

Best wishes to all this summer!

BTW... we are on Northern Lake Huron, which is pretty wild and rough. Not an inland typical vacation lake. My siggie photo is a view just before Lake Huron itself. This little shoal of rocks is right at the mouth of our bay.

This attached photo is a recent view just beyond this shoal, of a Canadian
frigate going up to the Sault locks via the St. Mary's River.

P.S. These past 2 months I have been quite ill with some kind of infection/inflammation. Joints hurt and GI upsets that are very painful. A good friend suggested Olive Leaf extract last weekend, and I've been taking it since then. I had a massive Herx reaction, but now I am getting stronger and better every day! I will continue this on the vacation and report back in Sept about my experiences. So far my GI stuff has stopped, and my joint pain is rapidly fading. I have always suspected viral triggers and/or Candida for my self...so I am encouraged by the OLE. There is a 2013 paper out from New Zealand showing OLE also helps with insulin resistance/type II diabetes too. So this is also very helpful for me. I am using 500mg of 6% concentrated herb once a day. Twice a day was too strong at first, but I may up it as time goes by to twice a day. ;)

Have a wonderful holiday, and thanks for all you do here on NT.

Nobody could ever fill your shoes, but I'm sure everybody will keep an eye out for newbies.

Have a wonderful time! I hope that you have good weather. Relax and enjoy the change of scenery.

Yes, I love the clean air up there. We tend to get used to the pollution that is present in the city! I just hope we don't freeze to death. Last summer was pretty cold too. I only wore shorts once or twice! And often had long underwear on. :o

Have a great vacation!!

Sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well, but glad it appears you're on the mend. I too am trying to bounce back...after falling and breaking my ankle. It's always something, huh?? LOL

Take care and we hope to get some brief updates now & then on how your vacation is going.

Here's hoping the weather is warm, but not hot, the cats stay healthy, and the storms are elsewhere! And that you complete your recovery while you're gone.
I know everyone will miss you, and we'll be looking forward to a few posted notes on how it's going up there.
