PCS Tension type Headaches Vestibular Therapy

Hi Everyone,
It has been one year since my 3rd concussion July 2013. I have had tension type headaches everyday since. Today I saw a specialist at the Jefferson Concussion Clinic. He recommended I that go to vestibular therapy due to my eye movement, also when we did the exercise where you look at your thumb in front and move your head while keeping your eyes focused, my headaches worsened.

My questions is: Has anyone been treated for headaches with vestibular therapy? How successful was it? From what I have been reading, it looks like this addresses balance issues.

Thank you for your time reading this and hope everyone feels better.

-Chris

when I first got sick and they advised that I do it & I didn't and now I regret it. I am thinking of going back for it. I would suggest you do it

A new neurologist has suggested this testing be done wondering if anyone has had this test and what to expect - it deals with balance

Im going to be starting vestibular therapy soon. After 9 months of nonstop migraines and loss of balance im hoping this helps.

Not really sure what its like though or what you do. Anyone have any insight?

I think that the vestibular therapy will help you with the balance issues... I did a lot of work with dots and shaking my head and then some work with focusing while on a balance board of sorts.. they also did a lot of eply maneuvers on me to make sure that I did not have the crystal build up...

I had the test. it is a good test. harmless test but it will indicate if you have vertigo or not or eye and balance issues and it will tell what pats of the brain are indicated in the problem

Mark's right, I had the test then went in to therapy which really helped, seemed I couldn't even walk in a straight line.

My vestibular therapist was great but I also went to another therapist for eye problems.

Had severe headaches at that time too which improved but are now back and I now have migraines.

The vestibular therapist checked my balance, walking, eyes...did different tests with the eyes.

What test did you guys take?

The only tests I took before being told I needed it was follow pen/light (told I was blinking a lot and slow)

Then walk a straight line and stand on foam board.

So what exactly goes on in vestibular therapy?

vng testing...look it up, I took it and it is a good test for determining certain things about your vestibular system.
