1 month later and my fillings still hurt
Hello,
This post appears under my username but it's my daughter who's having the problem this time. 4 or 5 weeks ago, I took my daughter to a routine dentist appointment before going to the orthodontist and I'm very sure that she takes good care of her teeth. She's only 14 years old and the dentist told me that she had 6 cavities and needed to get them filled. I was very surprised due to the fact that she had never had a cavity before and suddenly she had 6!!! The fillings were placed and everything seemed fine so far. But the next day my daughter was complaining about sensitivity when she had cold drinks or anything cold. At first I thought it was normal and would go away with time, but 5 weeks later she's still experiencing a lot of sensitivity. I took her to a second dentist and he took x-rays and mentioned that there was something suspicious about those fillings, due to the fact that they're symmetrical. Now I'm thinking that those fillings were unnecessary and the original dentist only placed them for $$$ purposes. Now I don't know what to do, because I feel like he ruined my daughter's teeth and I don't want her to end up getting root canals cause of the risks involved and even worse I don't want her to get her teeth extracted. I'm even considering suing the dentist for unnecessary dental work and malpractice!! I need your advice please!! thank you in advance. |
I would get her original set of x rays from the dentist that did those fillings. Then those xrays can be checked by another dentist for second/third opinions..
