as soon as i drift off my body starts to brun

my head, neck, arms, everything. I have a brain injury and it is not medication that is causing it because it has happened no matter what iam on. it goes away a few minutes after I am alert but I can get no good sleep with it. also have terribly vivid dreams. I know I damaged the sleep center of my brain but what the heck is causing the burning?
