Had a crappy day today.

Hi guys. I haven't been around much lately, been feeling decently the last few weeks. But I had a bad brain day today. About 3/4 of the way through my work day I developed a stiff neck and headache. Then my mom stopped by and was giving me some advice about something I wanted to write down and had to delete and retype it (I was doing it in my phone) about 6 of 7 times become it wasn't making sense. Then I had a customer pay me with a $20 that I was 100% sure was a $5 and he and I argued back and forth several times about if I owed him further change until I checked the drawer and found my mistake. Gun to my head I would have told you that was a $5. Then I screwed up an easy repair that I can normally do in my sleep.

One step forward two steps back.

I have learned that interruptions of my work environment are the kiss of death. The head ache was enough of an interruption. The frustration of trying to type into a smart phone finished you off.

You will find it to your benefit to turn down such interruptions. Your mom should understand.

Nah in this case it was my choice. I needed that list of advice she was giving me and I don't like using paper (I lose paper too easily but my phone is always with me). But you're right, it doesn't take much to throw me off. Just the nature of the beast we all get to deal with I guess. :)

I just can't get past how convinced I was that the guy had a five dollar bill. I had absolutely no doubt in my mind that that's what it was. Put the $20 in the $5 spot. Even when I found the mistake I said it was because I saw the $5 he had in his bundle of money, to which he said he didn't have any. My brain completely invented a five dollar bill.

Seeing a $5 when it is really a $20 is what many of us call a Brain Fart. We can't believe it came out of us but it sure is embarrassing and stinks.

Pushing through the effort to type into the smartphone should be a lesson. We all learn these the hard way.

We are all human, all too human. I'm sorry you had a bad day. WE've all had them.

And you know what? You get to wake up tomorrow. And it can be a better day.

Trust that it will. Make it better. :)

I feel for you guys as I don't really have any cognitive problems just brutal sensory problems. I hope you keep going better and better and let us know about the improvements

Well, I just showed up a day late to my neuropsychology appointment. I made the appointment over the telephone so I obviously misunderstood the date.

The doctor's office didn't call to confirm the appointment so the no show charge was waived, and the appointment was rescheduled. But just when I thought I was doing better, here is another example of my audio-processing difficulty continuing.

So, another day to make it better. Grumpy me today.
