Scared

Are we allowed to ask people's opinions of ms doctors? Have appt. Tomorrow with one at a major prestigious center. The online reviews were scathing..not just 1. About 20 on different sites with outrageous behavior on the doctors part. At this point I don't have any alternatives. Just looking for more input. Thanks

I saw a doctor the other day for brain injury who had brutal brutal brutal things written about him online and ended up being a great doctor. The doctor that ruined my life with a bad combination of drugs, Alan leff from Manhattan, gets 5 star rating on the Internet. Ignore it

I agree, make your own mind up about it. You can go in a bit cautiously if you want. I thin a person should always go in completely alert to the fact that that person may be a jerk, or uncaring but be alert and expect the best!!! Take some one else along with you to help remember things you want to make sure are brought up and can help remember what the doctor has said. Good luck and let us know how it went

Remember not all the people happy with the doctor post their reviews!

Keep an open mind and decide for yourself.

Let us know how your appointment goes.

i was also going to suggest bringing someone to the appt with you.
it's a good idea to have a 2nd set of ears and even to validate your problems to the dr with you.

there's also a site called Healthgrades.com where you can look up drs and hospitals to get ratings, and see their medical education etc.

Physician reference

Are you already diagnosed? Either way, I check with the Nat'l MS Society to see if they have feedback.

Neuros are too expensive to waste money on if he really has a problem with patients. Have you asked your PCP for a reference or your insurance provider for a list of neuros they cover?

It's not unusual to have to drive an hour or more for a good neuro. I know many people do.

Just a follow-up. Went today and I felt I received good care and he treated me well. Do I believe the reviews? There were too many that said repeated themes on multiple sites. Even if he said or did the things that were written even once, shame on him. For now, I will stay and be cautious. I am too sick to be dealing with a doctor that has issues such as these. So, I feel prepared should this type of behavior surface in the future. I have been a nurse for over 35 years and have witnessed this kind of thing on a regular basis I am sorry to say. Thank you all for giving me the strength to even show up today.
