New and improved reality show addicts thread!!!!

So far this season has started pretty slow for me. 'On the lot' has been on for, I think, 3 shows now. It's going to have to do something pretty spectacular to make me enjoy it as much as all the other Mark Burnett productions. I don't like the hostess, she seems to lack any finesse. They are using the whole American idol format to introduce, give numbers to vote and then the whole elimination show. They could do the show in 15 minutes but they drag it out to an hour.

But I am looking forward to Thursday night for 'Pirate master'. From the website and all the trailers, it seems like it will be a good show. The website does warn you that there will be some degree of the haves and have nots. The captain and his crew are the haves and the other guys have to do as he asks like swab the decks, etc. But the searching for the gold and eliminations will be exciting. From what the website looks like, they have some pretty authentic charcters as contestants.

There is another Bachelor show coming out soon also, something about 'all about age'. I think the bachelorettes are divided between young and middle age for the one guy to woo into his lair. I have never been a fan of the show. I guess 'cause you can't find true love on a TV reality show.

Anybody else watching any other shows? I hear Canadian Idol is starting soon.

Never heard of those. That Pirate one sounds cool!

Yes, the Pirate show sounds wicked, Doydie. I think Big Brother starts in June too. I don't like the Bachalor/ette shows either.....borrrrrrring:rolleyes: .

I finished another reality show that I had been watching on Bravo, 'Shear design'. It was based on 12 designers starting the show and each week at least one were eliminated. So tonight was the final challenge. I thought the challenges were almost impossible but it's over. As you could tell, I was really into it! But so far all I can find on TV are reruns.

I'm watching the Shear Genius finale as I write. So I don't know who won.

I'm looking forward to the Top Chef All Stars and the new season. Also am looking forward to Last Comic Standing. A great laugh sure takes my mind of my pain for a bit.

Don't forget Big Brother starts in July!

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned "So You Think You Can Dance!" It started last week, I think, so they're still in the auditions phase. It's on Wednesday from 8 - 10 here and then Thursday for one hour. Some of the wannabies crack me up! The Pirate one sounds interesting too!

Happy watching!!

Oh the guilt

Shame on me. I broke my rule to limit what SO terms "trash TV", reality shows.

Hello my name is Beth and I am addicted to trash TV.
I watched both Pirate Master and So you think you can Dance.
My head is hanging low, but I found them so enticing I set my vcr for both. :D

Sshhh, don't tell SO. Okay?

The african american guy won Shear genius.

Yeah I started watching 'So you think you can dance' last year and I'm hooked. I never knew there so many forms of dance. The true dancer has to be able to adapt to all of them. I liked the little guy tonight that did the robot dance thing, They let him try the choreography round. I think they knew he wouldn't pass but gave him the chance anyway, just like they did last night with the guy with the prosthetic leg. But they really respected this guy tonight and the hip hop choreographer is going to try to get him in a movie. These judges seem a lot kinder than the ones on American Idol

I really enyoyed Pirate Master. It's kind of like Survivor but kind of not. On their message board, they are really trashing the captain for the way he is acting. But I think he is just acting like a pirate captain would act. I don't think a true pirate captain acts like he truly loves his crew. And I am glad that John was eliminated. I can't remember what they call it. Oh, is it set adrift? I think he was really full of himself since he is a Chippendale dancer.
He really liked to touch the girls.

These two shows may make me drop 'On the lot'. I don't watch the cooking shows. I don't think I could watch 'Hells kitchen' at all. HGTV is going to start their new season of 'Design star' next month. It will be set in Vegas.

I haven't found any regular show this summer that Ii want to watch. It's either reruns of CSI or Law and Order ar all the reality shows. My husband pretty much goes to the family room to watch TV. He channel surfs anyway. Prison Break was about the only show we watched together.

I watched a little of Pirate Master and I liked it. Poor Chippendale Guy..I don't think he impressed the others..LOL

I think John was to much into his hair. I wondered though, at the first of the show, his hair was long as in his bio pic. But during the rest of the show it was shorter. What gives? Of course Louie had the girls braiding his hair so maybe they have an on board salon!
