Abdominal/ flank Nerve pain after surgery

Is there any test to confirm abdominal or flank area nerve damage. I heard about EMG, NCV, but I was told its for hands, legs etc, anything specific for abdominal pain? Will MRI show nerves damage, injury etc? Thanks

I don't think EMG & NCV are appropriate to diagnose abdominal pain. If your only symptom is pain(localised)in a particular area you should speak to your GP and see if it's coming from an organ. They may then order an ultrasound or CT scan including blood work. If you are having functional problems such as gas, bloating, cramps, constipation, nausea than the function of the gut and it's motility have specialised testing. If neither of the 2 scenarios are the case and it's a very genarilsed pain that comes and goes it may be harder to figure out. Try a good quality probiotic. See how you go and document all bothersome symptoms. If things are not improving with time, see your GP.

That's the only advice I can give matey.
